If it worked for Paramount and "Shutter Island," why not for Fox and its "Wall Street 2?"

The studio just announced its has pulled the Oliver Stone-directed sequel starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf from its April 23 date to September 24. Given the high profile status of the project, such a move has a tendency to raise a few eyebrows. Yet, with the film's prime new dating spot in that late September weekend, chances are the studio may want to maximize its awards chances by being part of such Fall events as the Toronto Film Festival and other means of campaigning.

Directed by Stone and written by Allen Loeb, "Wall Street 2" also stars Josh Brolin, Frank Langella, Susan Sarandon and recent Oscar nominee Carey Mulligan.
