Fox hedges its bets by moving Oliver Stone's "Wall Street 2: Money Never Sleeps" from its original April release to a prime spot this Fall.If it worked for Paramount and "Shutter Island," why not for Fox and its "Wall Street 2?"
The studio just announced its has pulled the Oliver Stone-directed sequel starring Michael Douglas and Shia LaBeouf from its April 23 date to September 24. Given the high profile status of the project, such a move has a tendency to raise a few eyebrows. Yet, with the film's prime new dating spot in that late September weekend, chances are the studio may want to maximize its awards chances by being part of such Fall events as the Toronto Film Festival and other means of campaigning.
